About the role#
This internship provides hands-on experience in human resources and marketing operations at NASCAR Speedpark Smoky Mountains. You will support daily functions while developing skills in recruiting, onboarding, employee engagement, and brand promotion. The role requires working in both indoor office settings and outdoor park environments.
What you'll do#
- Assist with recruiting and hiring processes, including attending events and coordinating interviews.
- Lead new hire orientation classes independently after completing your training.
- Manage employee records and support onboarding tasks.
- Participate in the brainstorming and execution of marketing campaigns.
- Create social media content and engage with guests online.
- Cross-train in all indoor and outdoor park departments to understand operations.
- Support guest experience initiatives through surveys and feedback analysis.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a degree program for Human Resources, Marketing, Business, Hospitality, or a related field.
- Strong communication, organization, and multitasking skills.
- Ability to maintain professionalism when handling confidential information.
- Capacity to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Ability to build positive working relationships with staff and leadership.
- Willingness to complete required training on professional conduct and leadership boundaries.
Location & details#
- Location: Sevierville, Tennessee.
- Modality: On-site.
- Schedule: Full-time with availability for weekends and holidays. Shifts may vary between 8, 10, and 12 hours.
- Physical requirements: Ability to stand and walk frequently, and occasionally lift up to 25 pounds.
