About the role#
Join the Certification and Accounting group as a student intern. You will work within a diverse team to provide financial information and support to our clients. This role focuses on helping clients make informed decisions through detailed financial reporting and analysis.
What you'll do#
- Build technical skills in accounting and taxation, including compilation, review, audit, and bookkeeping.
- Apply knowledge of IFRS, ASPE, and GAAP standards to client files.
- Prepare files for new clients and recently incorporated businesses.
- Perform walkthrough tests with clients covering accounts receivable, accounts payable, asset acquisitions, and payroll.
- Review and correct irregularities in financial entries, documents, and reports.
- Prepare technical reports, summaries, and presentations for clients.
- Collaborate with engagement teams and build professional relationships with client contacts.
- Contribute ideas to improve work procedures and internal systems.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor of Commerce or Business Administration degree, with a focus on accounting or finance.
- In the process of completing prerequisite courses for the CPA Professional Education Program.
- Previous experience in a public accounting firm is an asset.
- Experience in customer service is an asset.
- Familiarity with accounting and tax software is an asset.
- Willingness to travel as required.
