About the role#
MNP is seeking a Co-op Accountant for the Assurance and Accounting- Insolvency team for the Winter 2027 term. This is a full-time, paid, on-site position based in Ontario. You will work with a team to provide financial information and support to clients.
What you'll do#
- Build technical skills in audits, reviews, compilations, tax, and bookkeeping.
- Apply knowledge of IFRS, GAAP, and ASPE standards.
- Prepare balance sheets, profit and loss statements, and other financial reports.
- Conduct walk-throughs with clients regarding accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and capital asset transactions.
- Investigate and fix discrepancies in financial documents and entries.
- Set up files for new clients and manage multiple engagements at once.
- Prepare technical reports, client summaries, and correspondence.
- Collaborate with your engagement team and maintain relationships with client contacts.
What you'll need#
- You are completing or working toward a bachelor degree in business administration or commerce, preferably with a major in finance or accounting.
- You have completed or are working toward the prerequisites for the CPA Professional Education Program.
- Previous office experience in accounting is an asset.
- Experience in customer or client service is helpful.
- Familiarity with tax and accounting software is considered an asset.
