About the role#
MNP is hiring a Co-op Accounting Technician to join the Assurance and Accounting team in Stratford, Prince Edward Island. This is a full-time, paid position focused on providing financial information and advisory services to our clients.
What you'll do#
- Assist with compilation, review, audit, bookkeeping, and tax engagements.
- Prepare and maintain government filings, accounts receivable, accounts payable, expenses, and payroll transactions.
- Set up client files, assist with budget completion, and handle administrative planning.
- Perform month-end and quarter-end close processes.
- Monitor and reconcile GL accounts, including cash, bank reconciliations, prepaid expenses, accrued liabilities, intercompany, and POS system uploads.
- Investigate discrepancies and errors, working with managers or engagement partners to find resolutions.
- Communicate with government agencies regarding assessments, information requests, and installments.
- Collaborate with the client engagement team and travel as necessary.
What you'll need#
- An accounting certificate or a bachelor’s degree in commerce or business administration. A major in accounting or finance is an asset.
- Between entry-level and 2 years of relevant accounting experience.
- A working knowledge of basic accounting principles and processes is an asset.
- Experience with accounting and tax software is an asset.
- Preference is given to candidates with experience preparing T4s and T5s and those with knowledge of personal and corporate tax.

- This role is based on-site in Stratford, Prince Edward Island.
- The position is full-time with a rolling term.
