About the role#
Join the Assurance and Accounting team as an intern to gain hands-on experience in a professional accounting environment. You will work alongside a team of advisors to provide financial information that helps clients make informed business decisions.
What you'll do#
- Develop technical skills in audits, reviews, compilations, bookkeeping, and tax.
- Set up files for new clients and newly incorporated businesses.
- Prepare balance sheets, profit and loss statements, and other financial reports to summarize status.
- Review financial entries to investigate and correct discrepancies.
- Collaborate with the client engagement team and build relationships with client contacts.
- Apply knowledge of IFRS, GAAP, and ASPE standards.
- Perform walk-throughs for accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll.
- Assess audit evidence for expenses, revenues, and capital assets.
- Prepare technical reports, correspondence, and client summaries.
What you'll need#
- Currently working towards a bachelor’s degree in commerce or business administration, with a preference for accounting or finance majors.
- Working towards prerequisites for admission into the CPA Professional Education Program (PEP).
- Previous accounting office experience is an asset.
- Experience in customer or client service is an asset.
- Familiarity with accounting and tax software is an asset.

- Status: Full-time, paid position with an annual salary of $46,000.
