About the role#
MNP is hiring a Co-op Accountant for the Winter 2027 term in Lindsay, Ontario. This is a full-time, paid, on-site position.
What you'll do#
- Build technical skills in compilations, reviews, audits, bookkeeping, and tax.
- Apply knowledge of IFRS, GAAP, and ASPE standards.
- Set up files for new clients and businesses, manage multiple files, and conduct inventory counts.
- Perform walk-throughs with clients regarding accounts receivable, accounts payable, payroll, and capital asset transactions.
- Prepare balance sheets, profit and loss statements, and other financial reports.
- Assess audit evidence for expenses, revenues, and asset additions.
- Investigate and correct discrepancies in financial documents and entries.
- Establish charts of accounts and prepare entries for posting.
- Draft correspondence, technical reports, and client summaries.
- Work with the engagement team and maintain client relationships.
- Suggest improvements for work processes using internal systems.
- Travel as necessary.
What you'll need#
- Completion of or progress toward a bachelor degree in commerce or business administration, with a preference for accounting or finance majors.
- Completion of or progress toward prerequisites for the CPA Professional Education Program (PEP).
- Previous office experience in accounting is an asset.
- Experience in customer or client service is an asset.
- Familiarity with accounting and tax software is an asset.
