About the role#
Join the Assurance and Accounting team as an intern to support clients with financial reporting and business advisory needs. This role provides exposure to a range of accounting functions while working alongside experienced professionals in a collaborative environment.
What you'll do#
- Build technical skills in audits, reviews, compilations, bookkeeping, and tax.
- Apply knowledge of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS), GAAP, and ASPE.
- Conduct walk-throughs with clients regarding accounts receivable, accounts payable, payroll, and capital asset transactions.
- Prepare balance sheets, profit and loss statements, and other financial reports to summarize client status.
- Set up files for new clients, manage multiple engagements, and perform inventory counts.
- Assess audit evidence and investigate discrepancies in financial documents.
- Prepare technical reports, correspondence, and client summaries.
- Collaborate with the engagement team and maintain professional relationships with client contacts.
- Improve work processes using internal systems and programs.
What you'll need#
- Currently working toward a bachelor’s degree in commerce or business administration, with a preference for accounting or finance majors.
- Progressing toward the prerequisites required for admission into the CPA Professional Education Program (PEP).
- Previous accounting office experience is considered an asset.
- Experience in customer or client service is considered an asset.
- Familiarity with accounting and tax software is considered an asset.

- Compensation: $46,000 annually.
