About the role#
MNP is hiring a Co-op Accountant for the Assurance and Accounting team in Burlington. This is a full-time, paid internship for the Winter 2027 term. You will work on-site to assist our professional team in providing financial reporting and business advice to our clients.
What you'll do#
- Build technical skills in audits, reviews, compilations, tax, and bookkeeping.
- Manage multiple client files simultaneously and set up files for new or newly incorporated businesses.
- Collect information to prepare balance sheets and profit and loss statements.
- Investigate and correct discrepancies or irregularities in financial reports and entries.
- Draft technical reports, client summaries, and correspondence to present engagement findings.
- Apply knowledge of IFRS, GAAP, and ASPE standards while working with the engagement team.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a bachelor degree program for commerce or business administration, with a preference for accounting or finance majors.
- Progress toward prerequisites for the CPA Professional Education Program (PEP).
- Previous office experience in an accounting role is an asset.
- Experience with tax and accounting software is considered an asset.
