About the role#
MNP is hiring a Summer Student for our Assurance and Accounting team in Edmonton. This position starts in May 2027. You will work with a team of professionals to provide financial information and support to a variety of clients. This is a full-time, paid position.
What you'll do#
- Build technical skills in audits, reviews, compilations, bookkeeping, and tax.
- Prepare financial statements, balance sheets, and profit and loss reports.
- Perform walkthroughs for payroll, accounts payable, and accounts receivable.
- Investigate and correct discrepancies in financial documents and entries.
- Set up files for new clients and conduct inventory counts.
- Work with the engagement team and build relationships with clients.
- Assess audit evidence for revenues, expenses, and capital assets.
What you'll need#
- Progress toward a bachelor degree in business administration or commerce, with a preference for accounting or finance majors.
- Progress toward the prerequisites for the CPA Professional Education Program.
- Previous experience in an accounting office is an asset.
- Experience in customer or client service is an asset.
- Experience using tax and accounting software is an asset.
