About the role#
Technical Crew members support university functions and events by managing the technical requirements for chapels, concerts, lectures, and banquets. This position involves hands-on work with sound, lighting, and video equipment in a variety of campus settings.
What you'll do#
- Set up, operate, monitor, troubleshoot, and tear down lighting, sound, and video equipment.
- Organize and prepare technical gear for events.
- Perform minor equipment repairs and routine maintenance.
- Transport equipment across campus.
- Manage inventory and maintain organization within storage facilities.
- Communicate effectively with technical staff and event coordinators.
What you'll need#
- Experience with sound or lighting set-up and operation, as well as customer service.
- Willingness to learn how to operate and maintain technical equipment.
- Ability to work well under pressure, remain calm, and follow directions.
- Independence, self-motivation, common sense, and creativity.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work from heights on ladders or lifts.
- Flexibility to work long hours, including early mornings, late nights, weekends, and frequent night shifts.
- Ability to wear close-toed shoes at all times and adhere to event dress requirements.

- Compensation: $9.50 per hour.
