Student - Technical Assistant, Projectionist

About the role#

This position serves as a Technical Assistant and Projectionist at Parmer Cinema. The role involves managing the technical execution of film screenings and supporting the audience experience. This is a paid, on-site student position for Summer 2026.

What you'll do#

• Manage all technical aspects of film projection, including splicing, threading, and crossovers.
• Operate PowerPoint presentations prior to screenings.
• Make announcements to the audience as necessary.
• Communicate effectively with students and employees.
• Maintain consistent and reliable attendance.

What you'll need#

• An outgoing and friendly personality with strong customer service skills.
• Comfort working with technical equipment and an ability to learn new multimedia technologies.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• The ability to work well within a team and independently without supervision.
• Majors in Communications, Media Studies, Art, or Computer Science are preferred.
