About the role#
This position serves as a Technical Assistant and Projectionist at Parmer Cinema. The role involves managing the technical execution of film screenings and supporting the audience experience. This is a paid, on-site student position for Summer 2026.
What you'll do#
- Manage all technical aspects of film projection, including splicing, threading, and crossovers.
- Operate PowerPoint presentations prior to screenings.
- Make announcements to the audience as necessary.
- Communicate effectively with students and employees.
- Maintain consistent and reliable attendance.
What you'll need#
- An outgoing and friendly personality with strong customer service skills.
- Comfort working with technical equipment and an ability to learn new multimedia technologies.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- The ability to work well within a team and independently without supervision.
- Majors in Communications, Media Studies, Art, or Computer Science are preferred.
