About the role#
This position serves as a Technical Assistant and Projectionist at Parmer Cinema. You will be responsible for the technical operation of film screenings and ensuring a professional experience for the audience. This role is suitable for students in Communications, Media Studies, Art, or Computer Science.
What you'll do#
- Manage all technical aspects of film projection, including splicing, threading, and crossovers.
- Operate PowerPoint presentations before each film begins.
- Make necessary announcements to the audience.
- Communicate effectively with students and staff.
- Maintain consistent and reliable attendance for all scheduled shifts.
What you'll need#
- An outgoing and friendly personality with strong customer service skills.
- Ability to work well within a team and learn new multimedia technologies.
- Comfort working with technical equipment and the ability to work independently.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- A neat and clean professional appearance.
