About the role#
Messiah University is hiring a Technical Assistant to join the Information Technology Services team. This role supports students and staff by managing hardware and software needs across campus. You will work on-site during the summer of 2026. This is a paid, full-time position.
What you'll do#
- Troubleshoot and resolve hardware and software issues on PCs and Macs for students and employees.
- Assist with help line phone calls and manage support tickets.
- Re-image laptops and maintain lab equipment.
- Troubleshoot or replace AV equipment in classrooms and labs.
- Conduct research to help expand the department knowledge base.
- Provide evening classroom support when assigned.
What you'll need#
- Basic computer experience and some hardware knowledge.
- Familiarity with multiple operating systems and their configurations is preferred.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively within a team and share technical knowledge.
- Capacity to lift 60 pounds.
- A friendly, outgoing personality with a focus on customer service.
- Ability to manage multiple projects at once.
- Willingness to learn new technologies and troubleshooting methods.
