About the role#
The Lab Internship at Fairfield Hospital provides hands-on experience in a clinical setting. You will assist physicians by testing blood, tissues, and other bodily fluids to aid in the diagnosis and treatment of patients. This role is part-time and offers the chance to work directly with laboratory equipment and instrumentation.
What you'll do#
- Perform waived and moderate complexity diagnostic tests on specimens.
- Interpret, document, and report test results.
- Verify the accuracy, precision, and sensitivity of test methods.
- Run quality checks and perform maintenance on laboratory equipment.
- Troubleshoot technical issues as they arise.
- Manage and organize laboratory supply inventory.
- Handle other tasks as assigned by the lab team.
What you'll need#
- A High School Degree or GED.
- Current enrollment in an accredited Health Science program, such as MLS or MLT, working toward an associate or bachelor degree.
- A commitment to providing accurate, error-free work.
- Professional communication skills when engaging with staff and patients.
Location & details#
- Location: Fairfield, Ohio.
- This is an on-site, part-time, paid internship.
- The schedule includes 16 hours per week on day or afternoon shifts.
