About the role#
As a Cath Lab Student Technician, you will support the daily operations of the catheterization laboratory. This role involves working directly with patients and clinical staff to ensure procedures run smoothly and safely. You will assist physicians and nurses while gaining hands-on experience in a clinical environment.
What you'll do#
- Prepare procedure rooms, necessary equipment, and patients for upcoming procedures.
- Assist with hemodynamic monitoring and perform routine calculations under physician direction.
- Operate monitoring and recording devices to capture medical data.
- Manage the transmission and verification of digital angiography procedures on the network database.
- Order equipment in a timely and cost-efficient manner.
- Support the patient plan of care as delegated by the staff nurse.
- Maintain a clean and safe environment in the patient care area.
- Adapt your communication style and approach to meet the needs of specific patient populations.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
What you'll need#
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.
- Strong computer skills, including proficiency with Windows-style applications and data entry.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills with the ability to present information clearly.
- Ability to work independently and be self-directed.
- Strong interpersonal, planning, organizational, and time management skills.
