About the role#
This internship position within the Broadband Analog group focuses on the design and validation of high-speed broadband integrated circuits. You will contribute to the development of physical layer ICs for optical fiber data communication, including transimpedance amplifiers and drivers for Silicon Photonics. This role involves working with advanced circuit design to support data center and telecom market applications.
What you'll do#
- Perform active-circuit design using SiGe BiCMOS and advanced CMOS FinFET technologies.
- Design leading-edge transimpedance amplifiers and high-performance broadband analog circuits for optical front-end receivers.
- Develop transmission line and millimeter wave structures to improve circuit performance.
- Design various analog circuits, including linear regulators, AGC loops, current and voltage sensors, and bandgaps.
- Collaborate with functional groups to facilitate post-silicon validation, qualification, mass production transition, and customer support.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an MS or PhD program in electrical engineering with an emphasis on analog or mixed-signal IC design.
- Proven experience in high-performance receiver design, including chip tape-out and lab evaluation.
- Proficiency in EDA CAD tools and analog custom layout.
- Experience measuring IC performance and debugging designs to correlate simulations with physical measurements.
- Deep understanding of transistor-level design, device physics, and control or feedback loop stability analysis.
- Strong communication, presentation, and documentation skills.
- Experience in automatic gain-control loops, high-precision analog circuits, or continuous-time linear equalizers is a plus.
Location & details#
- Location: Westlake Village, California.
- Term: Fall 2026.
- Modality: On-site.
- Employment type: Full-time, paid internship.
