Marvell Technology is seeking an Analog Engineer Intern to join the Optical PHY team in Toronto. This role supports the development of high-speed and optical transceivers for communication infrastructure, including long-haul, metro, and datacenter applications. Interns will work alongside senior engineers to contribute to the full lifecycle of analog IP development.
What you'll do#
- Support architectural exploration and circuit implementation for blocks including PLLs, DLLs, ADCs, regulators, amplifiers, transmitters, receivers, and clock/data recovery circuits.
- Assist in design verification using tools such as SPICE, Spectre, and MATLAB.
- Collaborate with layout, verification, and application teams to deliver analog IP from initial concept through to tape-out.
- Participate in lab bring-up and debugging activities under the guidance of senior staff.
- Document technical findings, contribute to design reviews, and learn industry best practices in analog and mixed-signal design.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a Master’s or PhD in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
- Coursework or project experience in analog or mixed-signal circuit design.
- Exposure to design concepts such as PLLs, ADCs, oscillators, and SerDes (TX/RX).
- Familiarity with analog design tools including Virtuoso, Spectre, and ADE.
- A basic understanding of signal integrity, noise reduction, and clock generation techniques.
- Strong analytical and communication skills with a collaborative mindset.
