About the role#
As an IC Validation Engineer Intern, you will work with senior engineers on the full lifecycle of high speed mixed signal DSP chips. You will gain hands-on experience in the lab, from initial silicon bring-up through to field deployment. This is a full-time, on-site position based in Ottawa.
What you'll do#
- Measure transmitter and receiver performance for high speed mixed signal DSP chips.
- Test digital and analog product features.
- Build and assemble test stations.
- Write, edit, and run automation tools using Python.
- Collaborate with the software team to develop and integrate code that controls, monitors, and tests silicon.
- Support validation engineers with data collection and present your findings to the team.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a BS or MS program for Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field.
- Strong programming skills in Python and solid problem-solving abilities.
- A foundational understanding of hardware and software, digital communication, and Digital Signal Processing.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work full-time on-site for an 8 to 12 month term.
- Two or more years of related coursework is preferred.
- Experience with automation tools is preferred.

- Compensation: 30 to 41 CAD per hour.
