About the role#
This is a full-time, paid internship based in Ottawa, Canada. You will join the Optics team, which focuses on the design, verification, and validation of integrated high-speed optical components. You will be involved in the full product lifecycle, supporting new products from initial concept through to new product introduction (NPI).
What you'll do#
- Understand product requirements to support development goals.
- Perform photonics device modeling using commercial simulation tools.
- Work with design automation EDA software for product development.
- Collaborate with the team on hardware validation and data analysis.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing an MS or Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering, Physics, or Computer Engineering.
- Strong understanding of photonic device and semiconductor physics.
- Experience with component design, modeling, and RF validation.
- Proficiency with industry-standard photonics simulation tools.
- Familiarity with standard Si, CMOS, or MEMS process technologies for fabrication and integration.
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
