About the role#
As a Product Designer co-op, you will join the Global Design System team to help evolve our digital experiences. You will work alongside designers, developers, researchers, and accessibility specialists to build and maintain scalable, user-centered solutions for our enterprise design system. This role provides hands-on experience in visual design, service design, and digital product development.
What you'll do#
- Support the creation, refinement, and maintenance of reusable design system components and patterns.
- Create wireframes, mockups, prototypes, and visual designs for web and mobile platforms.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to solve user and business challenges.
- Improve component flexibility, consistency, and usability within the design system.
- Maintain design documentation, guidelines, naming conventions, and best practices.
- Ensure designs meet accessibility standards and promote inclusive user experiences.
- Participate in design critiques, workshops, and team discussions.
- Contribute to research, journey mapping, and other user-centered design activities.
- Partner with accessibility specialists to identify and address inclusive design considerations.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree in Product Design, UX/UI Design, Interaction Design, Digital Media, Human-Computer Interaction, Graphic Design, Global Business & Digital Arts, Systems Design, or a related discipline.
- Students in Inclusive Design, Digital Accessibility, or Accessibility Studies are encouraged to apply.
- Experience using Figma for digital experiences, prototypes, and design assets.
- Strong visual design skills and attention to detail.
- Understanding of user-centered design principles and design thinking.
- Ability to communicate design concepts clearly to diverse audiences.
- Strong collaboration and teamwork skills.
- A portfolio showcasing design projects, digital products, or UX/UI case studies.
- Familiarity with design systems, component libraries, or enterprise-scale products is an asset.
- Knowledge of accessibility standards like WCAG and AODA.
- Exposure to Agile or Scrum environments.
- Practical experience through co-op, internship, academic, or research projects.
