About the role#
As an Automation Engineer Co-op, you will help identify opportunities to simplify, streamline, and automate business processes. You will work alongside business stakeholders and technology teams to analyze current workflows, uncover inefficiencies, and build solutions that reduce manual effort. This role focuses on digital transformation and operational excellence, allowing you to gain hands-on experience with modern automation, artificial intelligence, and low-code platforms.
What you'll do#
- Analyze business processes to identify bottlenecks and automation opportunities.
- Document current workflows and support the design of future-state automated processes.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements and understand operational challenges.
- Design, develop, test, and support automation solutions using approved tools.
- Build workflows, integrations, and reporting dashboards to improve productivity.
- Monitor solution performance and identify opportunities for optimization.
- Create and maintain technical documentation and user guides.
- Support data collection and analysis to evaluate the impact of automation initiatives.
- Research emerging automation and AI technologies to share recommendations with the team.
- Participate in continuous improvement and digital transformation initiatives.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing an undergraduate degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, Business Technology Management, Data Analytics, or a related field.
- Understanding of process improvement, workflow design, and operational efficiency concepts.
- Familiarity with low-code technologies such as Microsoft Power Platform, Power Automate, or Power Apps.
- Basic knowledge of data analysis tools like Excel, Power BI, or SQL.
- Exposure to scripting or programming languages such as Python, JavaScript, or PowerShell.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Ability to learn new technologies quickly.
- Experience gained through academic projects, internships, hackathons, or personal projects is preferred.
- Exposure to Generative AI tools, process mapping software like Visio, and system integration concepts is a plus.

- Term: Winter 2027 (January 5, 2027, through December 16, 2027).
- Modality: Hybrid (in-office presence required on designated days).
- Status: Full-time, paid position.
