About the role#
Western National Insurance is seeking a UX Intern for our Summer 2027 program. You will join the Product Engineering team to support various design and research initiatives. This is a full-time, paid internship based in Edina, Minnesota.
What you'll do#
- Conduct interviews, usability testing, and surveys to understand agent needs.
- Evaluate workflows, navigation, accessibility, and visual consistency across agent portals.
- Identify ways to create a unified experience across portals and connected applications.
- Create user flows, journey maps, wireframes, and prototypes.
- Collaborate with product, engineering, QA, and business teams to turn feedback into design recommendations.
- Present findings and document reusable UX patterns.
What you'll need#
- Senior-level undergraduate or graduate student status in UX design, human-computer interaction, interaction design, information architecture, psychology, or a related field.
- Prior experience in UX design, user research, or product design.
- Experience creating wireframes, prototypes, user flows, or journey maps.
- Familiarity with Figma or a similar design tool.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
- A portfolio that shows your UX thinking, research, or design work.

- Location: Edina, Minnesota.

- Compensation: $20.00 per hour.
