About the role#
Western National Insurance is hiring a Personal Lines Underwriting Intern for the Summer 2027 program. You will work directly with the underwriting team to support the management of personal insurance policies and gain hands-on experience in the insurance industry.
What you'll do#
- Help maintain accurate rating and coverage information on Personal Lines policies.
- Partner with underwriting staff and other departments to modify renewal business.
- Assess replacement cost values for property business.
- Review property inspections and recommend necessary actions.
- Update policy information as new details become available.
- Communicate with the agency force regarding requests for information or changes to policies.
What you'll need#
- Completion of at least two years of college is preferred.
- Intermediate experience using Word and Excel.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks at once with strong attention to detail.
- Ability to follow established processes and procedures.
- Effective oral and written communication skills.
- Strong time management skills.
Location & details#
- This is a paid, full-time, on-site internship located at our corporate office in Edina, Minnesota.
- Compensation is $20.00 per hour.
- Applicants must be authorized to work in the United States. We do not provide visa sponsorship.
