About the role#
The Teaching and Learning Center is looking for a Graduate Assistant to support peers through tutoring and academic coaching. You will help students master course content, improve their writing, and develop effective study habits. This role focuses on creating a welcoming environment where students can become independent learners. You will also assist the department with assigned projects and ensure that center policies are followed.
What you'll do#
- Provide tutoring in writing, algebra, anatomy, physiology, and statistics.
- Offer holistic academic coaching to help students succeed.
- Assist with departmental projects.
- Enforce policies to ensure compliance with regulatory standards.
- Foster a supportive environment for all students.
What you'll need#
- A Bachelor's degree and current enrollment as a student at Loma Linda University.
- Strong performance in the subject areas you will tutor.
- A minimum GPA of 3.0 after at least one quarter or semester of coursework is preferred.
- Professional quality reading, writing, and speaking skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office software and the ability to troubleshoot basic office equipment.
- The ability to communicate effectively, think critically, and work independently.
