About the role#
The Teaching and Learning Center at Loma Linda University Health is hiring a Graduate Assistant for a Federal Work Study position. You will support fellow students by providing tutoring and academic coaching. This role focuses on helping students master course content, improve their writing, and develop effective study habits. You will also assist the department with various assigned projects.
What you'll do#
- Provide tutoring in writing and specific subjects including algebra, anatomy, physiology, and statistics.
- Offer holistic academic coaching to help students master their course material.
- Help students strengthen their writing and communication skills.
- Assist the department with assigned projects and general duties.
- Create a supportive and welcoming environment that helps students become independent learners.
What you'll need#
- A Bachelor's degree is required.
- You must be a current student at Loma Linda University.
- Completion of at least one quarter or semester of coursework with a minimum GPA of 3.0 is preferred.
- Strong performance in the subject areas you will tutor.
- Ability to use standard office software like Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Professional communication skills and the ability to work independently.

- This position is located on-site in Loma Linda, California.
- The role is part-time and paid.
- Hiring is on a rolling basis.
