About the role#
Lifepoint Health is hiring a Student Ultrasound Technologist to join the team at Highpoint Health, Sumner. This is a PRN position based in Gallatin, Tennessee. You will work under the supervision of qualified sonographers to gain clinical experience while supporting patient care.
What you'll do#
- Review patient history and physician orders.
- Educate patients about procedures and equipment to ensure they understand the process.
- Assist with image acquisition and documentation.
- Position patients and perform imaging procedures.
- Analyze results and resolve image quality issues, such as repositioning patients or repeating procedures.
- Implement safety standards and perform quality control checks on equipment.
- Troubleshoot and report equipment malfunctions.
- Transport patients to and from the Medical Imaging department.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an accredited Diagnostic Medical Sonography or Ultrasound program.
- Six months of experience in a clinical setting is preferred.
- Ability to communicate effectively with patients regarding their care.
