About the role#
Join the Wegner Day School as a Student Teacher for the Summer 2027 term. This full-time, on-site role provides hands-on classroom experience under the guidance of a certified mentor teacher. You will receive a $5,000 stipend for your work during school hours, Monday through Friday.
What you'll do#
- Plan and deliver lessons in collaboration with your mentor teacher.
- Provide instruction in whole-class, small-group, and individual settings.
- Assess student learning and adjust your instruction to meet diverse needs.
- Participate in feedback sessions to reflect on your teaching practices.
- Support classroom management and maintain a positive learning environment.
- Act as a role model by upholding the values and principles of the Boys Town mission.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a teacher education program.
- Completed coursework in pedagogy, child development, and curriculum design.
- Ability to perform additional duties as assigned by your supervisor.
