About the role#
As a Student Teacher at Boys Town, you will gain hands-on classroom experience while working under the guidance of a certified mentor teacher. This full-time placement provides an opportunity to apply your academic studies in a practical setting, build confidence, and support student development. The role involves a $5,000 stipend.
What you'll do#
- Plan and deliver lessons alongside your mentor teacher.
- Instruct students in whole-class, small-group, and individual settings.
- Assess student learning and adapt instruction to meet diverse needs.
- Reflect on your teaching practices and participate in regular feedback sessions.
- Support classroom management to maintain a positive learning environment.
- Serve as a role model by carrying out behaviors that reflect the values and principles of the Boys Town mission.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a teacher education program.
- Completion of relevant coursework in pedagogy, child development, and curriculum design.
- Ability to perform duties as assigned to meet the needs of the organization.
Location & details#
- Location: Omaha, Nebraska.
- Modality: On-site.
- Schedule: Monday through Friday, during school hours.
- Term: Fall 2027.
