About the role#
This is a full-time, paid internship for Summer 2027. You will work on-site in Cypress, California, as part of our Electro-Optical and Infrared Systems team. This position lasts for 12 to 14 weeks and follows a 9/80 work schedule.
What you'll do#
- Design, develop, analyze, and test computer software using real-time operating systems.
- Assist engineers with various assignments to learn our methods, programs, and practices.
- Develop documentation and procedures for system installation and maintenance.
- Interact with users to define system requirements or necessary modifications.
- Provide regular status updates on your progress.
- Complete all assigned tasks on time while supporting the values of the organization.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in an accredited university with a 3.0 or higher GPA.
- Completion of at least your 3rd year of an Engineering curriculum or an Associate’s Degree.
- Current pursuit of a degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Electrical Engineering.
- U.S. Citizenship and the ability to obtain an active DOD security clearance.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office software.
- A willingness to learn new technologies.
- Desired skills include C/C++, C#, Python, VxWorks, Green Hills Integrity, Windows, Linux, Image Processing, VisualStudio, and embedded software experience on ARM, DSP, or FPGA hardware.
- Familiarity with Object Oriented Design Patterns and UML is a plus.
