About the role#
We are looking for Software Engineering Interns to join our team for a 12-week program during the summer of 2027. You will work alongside experienced engineers to develop software for complex, mission-focused systems. This position offers hands-on experience in a real-world engineering environment where you will contribute to active projects and gain exposure to mission-critical and distributed systems.
What you'll do#
- Work with mentors to develop and maintain software applications.
- Design, implement, and test software components using modern practices.
- Develop and interact with APIs and other software interfaces.
- Work in a Linux environment using command-line tools and development workflows.
- Investigate technical problems, evaluate solutions, and share findings with the team.
- Collaborate with other engineers using tools such as Git and GitLab.
- Develop automated tests and participate in verification and validation activities.
- Document your technical work and present results to engineers and management.
- Contribute to a significant software project or technical investigation.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering, or a related field.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance.
- Legal authorization to work in the United States without employer sponsorship.
- Familiarity with programming concepts appropriate to your academic level.
- Strong problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
- Ability to learn unfamiliar technologies and work both independently and in a team.
- Practical software development experience, signal processing knowledge, computer architecture experience, or hardware/software test development experience are preferred.

- Compensation: This is a paid internship with a salary range of $45,900 to $91,900.
