About the role#
This internship provides an opportunity to learn transactional finance and accounting processes within a shared services environment. You will work with systems like Workday, P2P/iValua, CostPoint, and Emburse Travel. You will see how accounts payable, accounts receivable, billing, payroll, and travel processes influence the financial reporting of a publicly traded organization. The role involves analyzing transaction-level data to understand its effect on profit and loss statements, balance sheets, and financial metrics such as Days Sales Outstanding.
What you'll do#
- Complete daily, weekly, and monthly process tasks to support department goals.
- Learn to use tools like MS Copilot, PowerBI, PowerAutomate, RPA, and Python to improve process efficiency.
- Document all assigned processes to ensure smooth training and backup coverage.
- Communicate project status, ideas, and issues to department leaders.
- Escalate task delays or variations to ensure quick resolution.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a 4-year degree program in Business, Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
- Legal authorization to work in the United States without the need for employer sponsorship.
- Ability to work a hybrid schedule.
- Strong capacity to learn financial systems and organizational needs quickly.
- Clear communication skills to interact across the organization.
