About the role#
We are seeking a Systems Engineering Intern to join our Imaging Performance group in Melbourne, Florida. This internship provides hands-on experience in the testing and evaluation of infrared camera systems. You will work directly with our engineering team to support various projects, gain insight into our methods, and contribute to the development of electro-optical solutions.
What you'll do#
- Assist engineers with daily assignments and technical tasks.
- Conduct testing in both laboratory environments and outdoor field settings.
- Perform imaging analysis under the guidance of experienced staff.
- Document requirements, verification plans, and test results.
- Provide regular status updates on your progress.
- Help develop plant layouts, manufacturing methods, and process improvements.
- Coordinate maintenance projects as needed.
What you'll need#
- Active enrollment in a 4-year undergraduate program for Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Optics, or Physics.
- Completion of at least two years of college coursework.
- A minimum 3.0 GPA.
- Ability to work full-time (40 hours per week) on-site.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
- Curiosity and a methodical approach to complex problem-solving.
- U.S. Citizenship is required.
- An active DOD security clearance or the ability to obtain one.
- Familiarity with Matlab and laboratory equipment is preferred.
