About the role#
This internship is part of the Electro Optical Infrared Systems division. You will work with the Readout Integrated Circuit or FPGA development teams. The role focuses on supporting the development of digital integrated circuits for Readout Integrated Circuits and Focal Plane Arrays. You will also assist with FPGA development for infrared sensors and systems. You will receive mentorship and gain experience in various engineering tasks.
What you'll do#
- Support architecture tradeoff projects.
- Participate in RTL coding and test bench development.
- Contribute to IC or FPGA design flows, including synthesis, place and route, timing closure, and design verification testing.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in an Undergraduate or Master's degree program in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
- A minimum 3.0 GPA.
- Ability to work full-time (40 hours per week) for at least 10 weeks during Summer 2027.
- U.S. Citizenship is required to access US-only data systems.
- Ability to obtain or maintain an active DOD security clearance.
- Proficiency with Windows and Linux operating systems.
- Understanding of digital logic, architecture concepts, and coursework.
- Basic knowledge of HDL/HVLs such as VHDL, Verilog, System Verilog, or UVM.
- Basic knowledge of programming or scripting languages like C++, Perl, Python, or TCL.
- Good lab debug skills and the ability to multi-task.
- Strong communication skills and a goal-oriented mindset.
