About the role#
Join the AI and Data Group at Lazard as an intern. You will work on cloud-based AI and data products that support investment bankers, portfolio managers, and client engagements. This role involves the full product-development lifecycle, from initial prototyping to final deployment. You will collaborate with a team of data scientists and engineers to build solutions that improve business processes.
What you'll do#
- Design, prototype, test, and deploy AI-driven applications.
- Use machine learning, natural language processing, and generative AI to solve business problems.
- Interact directly with senior investment bankers and portfolio managers to gather feedback.
- Manage projects from concept development through performance analysis and iteration.
What you'll need#
- A Bachelor or advanced degree in Computer Science, Machine Learning, Artificial Intelligence, or a related field.
- Strong programming skills in Python with experience in object-oriented or functional programming.
- Familiarity with large language model frameworks, APIs, and microservices.
- Knowledge of unstructured data processing and NLP techniques like sentiment analysis and RAG.
- Exposure to cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.
- Experience with relational and NoSQL databases, Git, CI/CD tools, containerization, and orchestration.
- Interest in agentic workflows, autonomous AI systems, and MCP agent development.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Interest in the finance industry, particularly investment banking or asset management.

- This internship is based in New York, New York.
- The term runs from June 7, 2027, to August 13, 2027.
- This is a full-time, on-site, paid position.
- The expected prorated salary is approximately $135,000 USD for the 10-week duration.
