About the role#
The Pharmacy Intern role at Kroger involves supporting the pharmacy team in providing exceptional customer service while maintaining a safe, clean, and professional environment. Interns assist with daily operations to help the department reach its sales and profit goals while adhering to quality assurance standards.
What you'll do#
- Accurately input patient and prescription information into the pharmacy computer system.
- Dispense the correct medication and facilitate the delivery of filled prescriptions to customers.
- Provide immunizations under the direct supervision of a pharmacist.
- Offer drug counseling and assist customers with over the counter medication recommendations.
- Communicate with prescribers to obtain authorizations and coordinate with insurance companies as needed.
- Manage pharmacy inventory, including stocking incoming orders and returning unused medication bottles to stock.
- Maintain a clean and organized department while following all safety and security protocols.
What you'll need#
- Active enrollment in a US school of pharmacy.
- A current state issued Pharmacy Intern license.
- Ability to gain and maintain comprehensive knowledge of pharmaceutical products to discuss with customers and prescribers.
- Strong interpersonal skills to promote trust and respect among associates.
- Ability to handle confidential information with honesty and integrity.
- Capacity to work cooperatively in a professional environment and manage conflicts effectively.
