About the role#
KPMG is seeking an Advisory Intern to join our Federal Technology Enablement practice for the Summer 2027 term. This role focuses on building and testing technical solutions for federal clients. You will work across the full project life cycle, from initial ideation to final delivery, while learning to manage project scope and stakeholder expectations.
What you'll do#
- Develop, configure, and test engineered code across various platforms.
- Build and manage production-ready product life cycles, including automation pipelines, DevOps, and MLOps.
- Support client solutions through data wrangling, ETL processes, and exploratory data analysis.
- Research and experiment with container methodologies and cloud computing resources.
- Assess the impact of emerging technologies like AI and cognitive computing.
- Identify patterns in historical data to generate and test working hypotheses.
- Collaborate with teams to plan and execute technology-enabled engagements.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in an accredited college or university pursuing a Bachelors or Masters degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Information Systems, or related engineering fields.
- A minimum GPA of 3.0.
- Proficiency in coding with Javascript, Typescript, HTML, CSS, Java, Python, R, or React.
- Experience with SQL and relational databases such as SQL Server, Oracle, or PostgreSQL.
- Familiarity with development tools and methodologies like Agile, git, test-driven development, and CI/CD.
- Eligibility for or possession of a U.S. Government Security clearance.
- Authorization to work in the U.S. without the need for employment-based visa sponsorship.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.

- This internship is based in McLean, Virginia.
- You must reside within a commutable distance of the office.
- Work modality includes a mix of on-site, remote, and hybrid arrangements depending on business needs.
- This is a paid, full-time internship.
