About the role#
KPMG US is seeking a Structured Finance Intern for the Summer 2027 term. This is a full-time, paid internship based in Irvine, California. You will join our Structured Finance team to support various engagements and gain experience in financial services.
What you'll do#
- Support securitization and structured finance engagements, including collateral and cash flow analysis.
- Assist with investor and remittance reporting while coordinating with internal and external parties.
- Help ensure accuracy and compliance with transaction documents and reporting standards.
- Work on engagements related to agency multifamily-backed securities, CMBS, CLO, CDO, MBS, and ABS.
- Review loan files to validate key data elements against source documents.
- Develop and maintain transaction models and templates.
- Assist with monthly and quarterly securitization payment and tax reporting processes.
- Maintain organized workpapers according to firm standards.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in an accredited college or university pursuing a Bachelor or Masters degree in Accounting, Finance, Financial Engineering, Mathematics, Economics, Statistics, Data Analytics, Business, or Engineering.
- You must have additional academic credits to complete after this internship before obtaining your degree or CPA eligibility.
- A preferred GPA of 3.0 or above.
- Data management skills and proficiency in MS Office applications.
- Knowledge of VBA, Python, Alteryx, or Tableau is preferred.
- Strong technical, critical thinking, and communication skills.
- You must be authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.
Location & details#
- Location: Irvine, California.
- Work Modality: This is a hybrid role. You are expected to work in-person at the office or a client site an average of three days per week.
- You must reside within a commutable distance to the office.
