About the role#
As a Financial Officer Intern, you will learn to advise customers on financial products by understanding their operations and priorities. You will build relationships with customers and team members while supporting the local community. This internship provides exposure to real projects where your skills and insights contribute to our daily operations.
What you'll do#
- Learn general office procedures and assist with promotional activities.
- Input annual financial information from customers and analyze their financial position.
- Conduct credit verifications with credit references and other lenders.
- Promote the organization through various public activities.
- Complete assigned special projects.
- Observe marketing, sales, and prospecting calls conducted by Financial Officers.
- Observe new loan applications, renewals, and additional loan processes.
- Observe loan closings to understand legal requirements.
- Observe the Appraiser to learn about real estate and chattel appraisal procedures.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a bachelor's or master's degree in Ag Business, Accounting, Finance, Agricultural Economics, Animal Science, or a similar field.
- A minimum 3.0 GPA on a 4.0 scale.
- Demonstrated leadership abilities.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- A strong desire to understand the ag finance, lending, and credit business.
- Availability for a 12-week internship during the summer of 2027.
Location & details#
- Location: Manhattan, Kansas.
- Modality: On-site.
- Term: Summer 2027.
- Compensation: This is a paid internship. It includes a $500 sign-on bonus and relocation assistance for those who qualify.
- Travel: You must be available to travel to Omaha, Nebraska, three times during the internship for orientation, mid-summer, and closing events. Travel expenses are covered.
