About the role#
As an Insurance Officer intern, you will learn the primary responsibilities of the role, build sales skills, and manage portfolios. You will work with a team to support local customers and communities. This internship provides exposure to real projects that contribute to our market delivery.
What you'll do#
- Gain exposure to the sales production of insurance products for customers and prospects.
- Learn techniques and resources for prospecting new customers.
- Observe sales calls and marketing efforts conducted by Insurance Officers.
- Assist with organizing and coordinating insurance programs in assigned areas.
- Learn about multi-peril and hail insurance products.
- Promote the organization through public activities.
- Handle general office procedures and conduct mailings for promotions.
- Attend staff meetings and observe various support roles.
- Complete special projects as assigned.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a bachelors or master’s degree in Ag Business, Accounting, Finance, Agricultural Economics, Animal Science, or a similar field.
- A minimum 3.0 GPA.
- Demonstrated leadership abilities.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- A desire to understand ag finance, lending, and credit.
- Availability for a 12-week summer internship.

- Term: Summer 2027.
- Modality: On-site.
- Note: Interns must be available to travel to Omaha, NE three times during the internship for orientation, mid-summer, and closing events. Travel expenses are covered.
