About the role#
KPMG US is hiring an Advisory Intern for the Deal Advisory practice, specifically within Accounting Advisory Services and IT Solutions. This internship provides exposure to client-facing engagement teams working on projects such as mergers and acquisitions, carve-outs, and technical accounting support. You will gain experience in a professional services environment while developing technical and analytical skills.
What you'll do#
- Work as part of client-facing engagement teams to develop solutions using data and analytics.
- Assist in preparing engagement documentation.
- Use KPMG software to extract and transform client financial data, including balance sheets, income statements, and journal entries.
- Identify findings and communicate recommendations to your team.
- Utilize technology and systems to support engagement activities.
- Learn emerging technologies and explore opportunities to apply intelligent automation.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in an accredited college or university with a GPA of 3.0 or higher.
- A Bachelor or Master degree in accounting with a minor in a technical field like computer science, IT, statistics, mathematics, or engineering. Alternatively, a degree in a technical field with a minor in accounting.
- Understanding of basic accounting principles.
- Knowledge of SQL, Alteryx, PowerBI, Microsoft Fabric, Python, or R.
- Strong communication, organization, and relationship-building skills.
- Ability to manage priorities across multiple tasks.
- Familiarity with MS Office, particularly Excel.
- Exposure to ERP systems like SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, or Workday is preferred.
- Authorization to work in the U.S. without the need for employment-based visa sponsorship.
Location & details#
- This position is based in Atlanta, Georgia.
- Work may be performed on-site at the office, at client sites, or remotely.
- You must reside within a commutable distance of the office.
- This is a full-time, paid internship for Summer 2027.
