About the role#
As a Corporate Accounting Specialist intern, you will gain hands-on experience supporting core general ledger functions. You will contribute to maintaining accurate financial records in alignment with GAAP, FCA regulations, and IRS requirements. This role helps ensure the financial position and fiduciary responsibilities of the organization are clearly represented.
What you'll do#
- Assist with monthly and quarterly close activities, including journal entry processing, key validations, and analytical reviews.
- Ensure accurate account classifications and timely resolution of issues.
- Support the maintenance of subledgers and amortization schedules for items like fixed assets, leases, and prepaid accounts.
- Perform payroll and benefits accounting processes by analyzing data files.
- Support the Financial Reporting team with documentation and Call Report information.
- Gain knowledge of FCA and FCS accounting and reporting requirements.
- Support the ICFR team with control inquiries and process walkthroughs.
- Collaborate with leadership on special projects, ad-hoc reporting, and analysis.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a degree in Accounting, Business, Banking, Finance, or a related field.
- A minimum 3.0 GPA.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Availability for a 12-week internship during the summer.
