About the role#
This internship provides an opportunity to work with tax experts in a team setting. You will assist multi-state companies to identify tax savings and navigate tax controversies. This position is based in Sacramento and runs during the Summer of 2027.
What you'll do#
- Help multi-state companies manage tax controversies, including preparing for auditor discussions and representing clients at hearings.
- Prepare protests and draft technical memoranda regarding state and local tax issues.
- Respond to inquiries from clients and tax authorities.
- Review documentation and perform research on specific tax questions.
- Process raw data to complete detailed tax calculations.
What you'll need#
- Working toward a Bachelor or Master degree in Accounting, Finance, Real Estate, or Economics.
- Graduation date within one year of the internship.
- Minimum overall and major GPA of 2.8.
- Completion of 6 to 12 accounting hours, depending on the specific practice.
- Intermediate skills in Microsoft Office, including Word, Access, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
- Ability to handle multiple assignments, work independently or in a team, and manage tasks with attention to detail.
- A valid driver license.
