About the role#
We are building our in-house engineering staff and looking for an Engineering Assistant to join our team. You will support subject matter experts with new connector and terminal product development and work on technology projects. This role offers the chance to contribute to product development and testing activities.
What you'll do#
- Use Python to automate preprocessing and post-processing in Finite Element Analysis tools.
- Use surface characterization tools like Scanning Electron Microscopy and profilometers to assist with problem-solving.
- Prepare samples for engineering validation testing.
- Complete engineering validation tests for terminal connector products.
- Document test procedures, sample preparation, and observation tool steps to create best practices.
- Prepare presentation materials for internal and customer reviews.
- Support subject matter experts with internal and customer 8D resolution activities.
- Contribute to Total Quality Management, QS9000, and ISO14000 Environmental Management systems.
- Note that some travel may be required.
What you'll need#
- In the process of completing a Bachelor's degree or higher in Mechanical Engineering or a related science field.
- Demonstrated integrity, entrepreneurship, and humility.
- Experience using Python and data analysis tools.
- Prior internship or hands-on club experience is preferred.

- Employment: Full-time co-op.
- Pay: $27 to $28 per hour, plus eligibility for variable pay.
