About the role#
This is a paid, full-time internship for the Summer 2027 term. You will work within the Industrial, Process and Agribusiness department to gain experience in consulting engineering. You will support project teams, learn from mentors, and contribute to infrastructure and processing projects.
What you'll do#
- Update and clean 2D drawing markups using AutoCAD.
- Create 3D models for structural, piping, electrical, and equipment elements.
- Convert hand sketches into formal CAD drawings.
- Assist with office and project tasks such as plotting, scanning, and document preparation.
- Coordinate with other designers to learn drafting workflows and project details.
- Manage your own workload and schedule to meet project deadlines.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a two-year Associate degree in drafting and design, engineering technology, or a related field with a focus in mechanical, process, or structural design.
- Proficiency with MS Office and computer technology.
- Working knowledge of design software like AutoCAD or Revit.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Interest in building systems, construction environments, or commercial HVAC.
- Coursework or project experience in 2D drafting and 3D modeling.
- Willingness to travel if needed and comfort working in both office and construction site settings.

- Locations: Fargo, North Dakota and St Paul, Minnesota.
- Work modality: On-site.
