About the role#
KFI Engineers is hiring a Process Engineering Co-op for our Industrial, Process, and Agribusiness department. This is a full-time, paid position based in St Paul, Minnesota. The role spans the Summer 2027 and Fall 2027 terms. You will gain hands-on experience in the consulting engineering industry through project work and mentorship.
What you'll do#
- Visit project sites to gather field information.
- Perform engineering calculations and write technical reports.
- Develop and update Excel spreadsheets for project documentation.
- Participate in company meetings to provide analysis, input, and recommendations.
- Assist in creating and maintaining project schedules.
- Manage your own workload to meet project deadlines.
What you'll need#
- Current pursuit of a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a related field.
- Completion of at least two years of college coursework.
- Proficiency with MS Office applications.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Commitment to professional engineering ethics.
- Willingness to travel as needed.
- Comfort working in both office and construction site environments.
- Knowledge of engineering design software like AutoCAD or Revit is preferred.
- An interest in building systems, construction, or commercial HVAC.
