About the role#
Join the Forestry Finance team at JPMorgan Natural Capital for a summer internship. You will work alongside professionals who manage timberland investment strategies for institutional investors. This role provides hands-on experience in investment analysis, financial modeling, and client reporting. You will work with our Portfolio Management and Strategic Solutions teams to evaluate timberland investment opportunities and support client engagement. This is a full-time, 10-week program starting in early June 2027.
What you'll do#
- Build and maintain financial models for timberland acquisitions, dispositions, and portfolio management.
- Analyze asset performance, market trends, and investment data to evaluate opportunities.
- Conduct sensitivity analyses and scenario modeling to assess risks and potential outcomes.
- Assist in preparing quarterly client reports, presentations, and investment analyses.
- Support data collection and research projects for portfolio and strategic solutions teams.
- Document takeaways from client meetings and help respond to client inquiries.
- Maintain financial and market data used for investment decisions.
- Collaborate with team members across investment management, strategy, and client service.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, Business, Real Estate, Natural Resources, or a related field.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial modeling concepts.
- Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to interpret quantitative information and summarize findings clearly.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple assignments and meet deadlines.
- Interest in investment management, natural resources, or timberland investing.
- Coursework or experience in financial analysis, valuation, accounting, or investments.
- Exposure to real assets or natural resource investments is a plus.
- Proficiency with AI-powered productivity and research tools.
