About the role#
First Merchants Corporation is seeking a Consumer Banking Intern for a 12-week paid summer program. You will work 40 hours per week in Lafayette, Indiana. This role provides direct exposure to the daily operations of banking centers and the management processes that support client services.
What you'll do#
- Collaborate with management teams across the line of business.
- Observe frontline associates and Regional Operations Managers during their daily and weekly routines.
- Assist bankers as they help clients with everyday banking needs.
- Support management in the execution of sales processes.
- Participate in a coordinated community service project with other interns.
- Build professional relationships with Executive and Senior Leadership.
- Present your accomplishments and key learnings to senior leadership at the end of the program.
What you'll need#
- You must be a full-time student pursuing a Bachelor degree or higher at an accredited college or university.
- Majors in Business Administration, Finance, or Economics are preferred.
- A GPA of 3.0 or higher is required.
- You must be authorized to work in the United States.
- You need to be available to work 40 hours per week from May 17th to August 6th, 2027.
- You must be able and willing to travel periodically throughout the First Merchants footprint.
- You should demonstrate initiative, enthusiasm, a strong work ethic, a team mentality, and self-motivation.
