About the role#
This is a 12-week paid internship focused on the Model Risk Management team. You will gain exposure to second-line risk management practices while helping ensure models, AI-enabled solutions, and non-model tools are identified, documented, assessed, and monitored. You will also participate in a coordinated community service project and have opportunities to network with leadership.
What you'll do#
- Support the Model Risk Management team with daily tasks, projects, and governance initiatives.
- Contribute to programs covering model, AI, and tool governance.
- Assist with model inventory updates and model determination documentation.
- Help with AI and Copilot agent governance reviews.
- Support questionnaire tracking and risk assessments.
- Organize validation and review evidence.
- Assist with policy and procedure documentation.
- Prepare for meetings and develop reporting materials for governance forums.
What you'll need#
- Full-time enrollment in a Bachelor or higher degree program at an accredited college or university.
- A GPA of 3.0 or higher.
- Availability to work 40 hours per week from May 17th to August 6th, 2027.
- Authorization to work in the United States.
- Demonstrated interest in the financial services industry.
- Ability and willingness to travel periodically throughout the First Merchants footprint.
