About the role#
As a College Financial Representative, you will build an integrated financial planning practice from the ground up. You will gain experience by working with local and nationwide experts while having the support of a company with over 165 years of history. This internship provides a framework to develop your professional network and practice while you complete your studies.
What you'll do#
- Prospect and network to build your client base and business.
- Develop and execute a business strategy.
- Call potential clients to set meetings and understand their financial goals.
- Prepare plans and offer recommendations.
- Use proprietary planning software platforms.
- Attend weekly coaching, training, and development meetings.
- Obtain Risk Product State Licensing for Life, Accident, and Health.
- Build practical life skills for your future career.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment as a full-time student, with juniors and seniors preferred.
- Entrepreneurial ambition and curiosity for sales.
- Involvement on campus through leadership roles, athletics, or student organizations.
- Excellent time-management skills.
- Interest in financial literacy and planning tools.
- Business savvy and a desire to improve critical thinking.

- Location: Cedar Rapids, Iowa.
- Modality: On-site.
- Schedule: Rolling, flexible to accommodate your classes.
- Compensation: Performance-based earnings, productivity bonuses, and learning incentives. Support is provided for insurance licensing and professional registrations such as SIE, Series 6, and Series 63.
