About the role#
The Wound Closure & Healing and Biosurgery R&D team in Raritan, New Jersey, is seeking an intern to support the development of new topical skin adhesives for surgical applications. This role is a full-time, on-site position for Summer 2027.
What you'll do#
- Perform hands-on laboratory work within chemistry and engineering settings.
- Conduct research studies and develop new test methods and fixtures.
- Create and evaluate prototypes for surgical use.
- Participate in voice-of-customer labs to gather feedback.
- Collaborate with engineers and external suppliers on project-related tasks.
- Manage documentation, including writing test protocols, generating final reports, and recording meeting minutes.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a bachelor or master degree program in Polymer Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, or a related technical field.
- Completion of at least your freshman year of college.
- A minimum GPA of 3.4 is strongly preferred.
- Proficiency in lab-based chemistry activities and Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Strong organizational skills to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Knowledge of polymer chemistry and characterization is a plus.
- Authorization to work in the US without current or future sponsorship requirements.
Location & details#
- Location: Raritan, New Jersey.
- Schedule: 40 hours per week.
- Term: Summer 2027 (May 3, 2027 to August 28, 2027).
- Requirements: You must remain actively enrolled in your academic program throughout the internship and provide your own transportation to the work site.
