    About the role#

    As an Oncology Translational Research (TR) Scientist Intern, you will join a team focused on developing new therapeutics, biomarkers, and precision medicine strategies for clinical trials. This full-time, 12-week summer program provides hands-on experience in a pharmaceutical research and development setting. You will work with a mentor and collaborate with global, cross-functional teams to explore disease biology, drug targets, and mechanisms of action. Interns are expected to present their research to project teams and at an organization-wide symposium at the end of the summer.

    What you'll do#

    • Design and execute experiments or conduct hypothesis-driven data mining.
    • Analyze data to assess pharmacodynamic effects and patient response to interventions.
    • Work with physicians, clinical scientists, and computational biologists to support clinical studies and biomarker strategies.
    • Conduct research on target validation and patient stratification using multiomics datasets.
    • Review scientific literature on disease-specific biology and new technologies.
    • Participate in department, team, and cross-functional meetings.
    • Shadow key functional roles and attend the Bench to Bedside Lecture Series.
    • Assist with the interpretation, reporting, and preparation of research results.
    • Prepare and present an abstract or poster at the annual research symposium.

    What you'll need#

    • Currently enrolled in an accredited University or College program, with graduation occurring after the internship ends.
    • Undergraduate students with at least four semesters completed or graduate students (Master's or PhD) are eligible.
    • Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0.
    • Degree or experience in biology, translational research, computational biology, cell/molecular biology, biochemistry, genetics, immunology, or precision medicine.
    • Ability to analyze data using coding-based platforms like R or Python.
    • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple project deliverables.
    • Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills in English.
    • Ability to work collaboratively within global, matrixed teams.
    • Experience with Slack and Microsoft Office applications.
    • Legally authorized to work in the U.S. without requiring sponsorship now or in the future.
